SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is a SaaS platform for SAP's Business Intelligence solutions (BI). SAP Analytics Cloud was created to bring together all analysis functions, such as ad-hoc analysis/self-service, dashboarding, and planning, into a single offering for all customers. 

SAP offers this platform as a public online platform that is separate from other SAP products. SAC can contend with Power BI and Tableau. 

SAP has spent the last few years focusing on offering cloud options to clients who prefer on-premise infrastructure. In order to please customers, investments in on-premise technology such as BusinessObjects will persist. As a consequence, SAP is striving for a hybrid situation in which on-premise and online software will be used in tandem.
